Leap Year Day

Ani was born on the exact middle day of the month of February. February only has a middle day every four years. I’ve always thought it was neat that she was born on that uncommon middle day. This year February had a middle day again. And today is the last day. It’s amazing how fast this year has already gone. It’s 1/6 over already! Before we know it our fourth little one will be here.

To take a picture…

I have been taking pictures of the three kids each month. This is not an easy feat. Invariably someone is not smiling or has their eyes closed or has a weird expression on their face. It took about 30 pictures to get this one:

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s okay if they aren’t all looking at the camera at once. It makes the photo more realistic anyway. I’ve started to see the kids in the pictures as the individuals that they are rather than the grouping of three brushed and polished children.

But if it’s this hard to get a picture of the three of them, heaven help me once we add the fourth!

See ya! I’m going with Daddy!

Many mornings when Jamie heads down the stairs to leave for work Fritz follows him. Fritz knows he needs shoes on to leave the house so he’ll try to get his own shoes on, but since he can’t do that on his own he’ll give up and put on someone else’s bigger shoes. Then he points to the door and waves in my general direction and says “Bye” clearly letting us know he’s going with Daddy!

Out of Here…

Fritz and I are leaving this morning for Utah. We were going to go there so I could be with my friend when she had her baby, but as it turned out her daughter was in a hurry and arrived a week early on Saturday morning. So now we’re going to be with her to help out post-partum instead. We’ll be there about 2 1/2 weeks. I haven’t seen my friend in about 3 years, so I’m really looking forward to spending time with her.

It’s baptism day!

Ani’s baptism is at 11 this morning. She is so excited. She had her interview with the bishop on Sunday and is so ready to be baptized and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She asked two of her friends to say the prayers. My mother is giving the talk on baptism. Her favorite former teacher is giving the talk on the Holy Ghost. Jamie’s baptizing her and my dad is confirming her. We got a white bow for her to wear with the white jumpsuit before getting baptized and then after she changes into the dress my uncle gave her for Christmas she will put in her matching brown bow. For while she and Jamie are changing after Ani is baptized, I have made a DVD for everyone to watch of pictures of her from birth to baptism set to music.

Afterwards we will have her family birthday party at our house. It should be a most wonderful day for a wonderful little girl!
